This video was taken close to where I WANTED to set up my tripod. I was just too much of a chicken, however. Tide was rising, and the surge just made me too nervous to set up all my equipment down here. So I ended up several feet inland. I want to return sometime when the tide is receding, and I think (after observing for a while) I'll be a bit braver. It looks like it's well-protected, actually (and there was never a big wave which washed over it while was there), so I think it's reasonably safe. I just chickened out this time after a few of the larger swells (actually, it's the time between the big swells that's scary -- when you see the water draw WAY back and you know that another big surge is coming, but not HOW big).
I got some pretty cool shots of water gushing from the spouting horns, however, that I would have missed if I had been down closer to the wave action.
