BAVI FROM BANZAI. We are about 100 feet from Banzai Cliff, which rises about 100 feet above sea level. Amazing waves! While I believe that we were quite safe, something about not being able to see out our car for several seconds in such conditions just got me spooked and ready to leave.
We had earlier taken the little road to the west of Banzai, where you could watch the waves coming up the cliff from the sides. I wish I had taken some video from there, but I got spooked there, too (before I could grab my camera).
You may notice the jiggling: Wind gusts were buffeting our vehicle quite strongly. It's hard for me to believe that this was not even a typhoon (just a tropical storm).
Make sure your sound is on. Click on the triangle above. Depending on your internet, you may need to allow it to buffer a bit.......
If it has difficulty playing on your computer, hover your cursor over the photo and click to the right of the playback progress bar (you will either see a number like 480, 540, 720, or 1080 -- or the word "Auto"). Select 480 from the pop-up menu. This will reduce the resolution, so you won't see as much detail, but it will not use as much band width (so it will be more likely to play all the way without need to buffer). If you still have problems, click on your refresh icon and try again.
