Dinner in the Mermaid Tavern. This is actually a nice little brew-pub. On this evening, they had 5 of their own brews on tap: An irish red, a wheat beer, a porter, and 2 pale ales (Sirena and Man'hita). In my opinion both pale ales were quite respectable (especially the Sirena ale, which I think is their flagship). The other three were not worth the calories (I would even prefer Budweiser). You can get a sampler for $1 (per beer that you want to sample), so that makes it possible to taste the beer prior to sinking your money into a full glass.
I would even put the pale ales up at the level of the average pale ale available in the Pacific Northwest.
The food was good, and I would recommend the beer (but recommend that you try a sample first).
