FEBRUARY 26, 2010: SPOTLIGHT CAVE AREA HIKE
Read MoreThanks for joining us! And I hope you also enjoy the next video (less than 3 minutes long). To play the video, you will need to press the triangle which you will see in the middle of the next photo. Another window will open toward the top of your screen. Each experience is different, depending on your internet speed, but I recommend that you click the PAUSE button and let the video load for a minute or two. Otherwise, it may start before it has buffered enough and then stop and start distractingly as you watch it.
Now for a video "recap" of the hike, more or less.
Music by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com).
Tom: I know that you detest videos in these albums, but I do think that this shows how the volume of water changes in the Spotlight Cave hole much better than anything I could ever show with still photos. Of course, I'm sure that YOU could show it with stills. I'm just too limited myself. The Spotlight Cave hole. Beneath where we stand is a large underwater cavern, with a huge, fully underwater opening to our right. The name Spotlight Cave arises because, if one SCUBA dives in the cavern, around noon the sun shines directly into this hole and creates a sort of ethereal beam penetrating through the water.
