Down the trail we go!

• Down the trail we go!
• Make sure that your sound is on. I hope you have STEREO, because it gives much more accurate effect.

This starts at the "dragon's vent," where most of the sound from this place comes from. There must be a large cavern beneath us, with an underwater opening to the waves. I've never seen water come out this crack, even when it has come gushing out of some of the blow holes which open at least as high as this one does. After watching Bev for a while and seeing how the air gushes out of this crevice, you will then see some small pools next to the crevice. It's amazing how porous the limestone is. Notice how the little pools bubble with each blast of air from the crevice. Then, just enjoy the view and the action!
• Bev finds her favorite limestone throne from which to watch the action.
• Here is one of the little water spouts.
• It's still amazing to me how this limestone (Saipan is basically old coral reef raised by some geologic event to above the water) has so many holes.

• For anyone interested in basic photography techniques, this photo and the last one are good examples of what you can do by changing your aperture opening for different depth of focus. The previous photo was taken at f22 (notice how it's relative sharp from the foreground out to the horizon). This photo was taken at f4, focused on the foreground, allowing the shallow depth of focus to accentuate the difference between foreground and background.
• Meanwhile, back on her throne. I think Bev is pointing at a turtle floating in the water.
