T'was the evening of May 6, 2012. The moon was officially "full" at about 2:30 PM our time (so, of course, it was not visible to us when it was exactly full). Basically, the night of May 5 and that of May 6 "straddled" the moon which was supposedly the fullest, largest, and brightest of the year (which apparently earns it the name "Super Moon").
