  • Heading to the Spotlight skylight. Banzai Cliff monuments visible in the background.
  • I believe this may be the calmest I have EVER seen this place.
  • Comments welcome on any of these photos. Find the "Add Comment" button to your lower left. You can also rate the photos from 1 to 5 stars, or hover your cursor over the photo and click on the "thumbs up" or "thumbs down."
  • Also, if there is something you wish to see closer, hover your cursor over the photo and click on "original" in the pup-out menu. This will bring up the photo at full size. You will need to use the scroll bars at the bottom and right of your screen to navigate to what you want to look at. Clicking on the photo then will return you to the Smug Mug format.
  • John at the Spotlight hole. There is an underwater cave beneath us. When the sun is shining nearly straight down into here, it acts as a skylight and shines a beam down into the cave (thus the name Spotlight Cave). It makes for an ethereal dive.
  • Wanna push, Dave?
  • Untitled photo
  • Kate is photographing Dave as he enters into a narrow tunnel which extends down to the water in the Spotlight hole.
  • The tunnel Dave entered is back behind them (you can't see it from this angle). It opens just behind and above where they are standing now.
  • Click on the triangle to play. You may have to wait a bit for it to buffer.
  • Kate returning to the terrestrial level.
  • Divers (the crazy ones who dive this from shore) take rope to extend down this tunnel so they can pull their gear out after the dive, then they jump in from the top. It is indeed a great dive, but I would recommend from a boat only.
  • A short drive past Kingfisher Golf Course, followed by a short walk, gets us to Hidden Beach (called by some "Crocodile," due to the snout you see in the distance).
  • "Mark, are you SURE this is the easiest way up there?"
  • "Mark SAYS this is a trail....."
  • Kate and Dave at the entrance of Hidden Beach Cave One.
  • Halfway through Cave One is this large "window," with a great view to an area frequented by many of our tourist guides (and, therefore, their tourist clients).
  • Untitled photo
  • Kate and Dave entering Cave 1, pausing at the "window," and then crossing to Cave 2. The screaming you hear is the tourists. They love to get up on a rock where the waves shoot up behind them. It makes for dramatic photo possibilities, as you will see momentarily.
  • Ready to cross over to Cave Two.
