Would you believe, another El Toro sunset?

This video was taken close to where I WANTED to set up my tripod. I was just too much of a chicken, however. Tide was rising, and the surge just made me too nervous to set up all my equipment down here. So I ended up several feet inland. I want to return sometime when the tide is receding, and I think (after observing for a while) I'll be a bit braver. It looks like it's well-protected, actually (and there was never a big wave which washed over it while was there), so I think it's reasonably safe. I just chickened out this time after a few of the larger swells (actually, it's the time between the big swells that's scary -- when you see the water draw WAY back and you know that another big surge is coming, but not HOW big).

I got some pretty cool shots of water gushing from the spouting horns, however, that I would have missed if I had been down closer to the wave action.

• Happy foam bursting from a spouting horn. Hold your cursor over the photo and click on "original." That will bring this up to "full size." You won't be able to fit that on your screen, so you'll need to navigate with the scroll bars to your right and at the bottom of your screen. There are lots of cool things going on here that you just can't see at smaller size.
• Wheeeee! Some cool things you'll see here at "original" size, too. Looks almost like a dolphin shape above and to left of center.
• Untitled photo
• Small "eruption."
• As the light began fading toward twilight, I had to switch to longer exposures, which give a pretty cool effect in and of themselves.
• What do you think?
• Sun's about to set down here in the "Valley of the Dragons."
• Time to head for town.
• A new bar in town, the Volcano Bar. I haven't been inside it yet, but they have done a good job, I think, of depicting the Japanese Sakura. Notice the volcano above the front door (to your left).
