Shortly after some previous typhoons, the rock in the center of this photo (often called "Penguin Rock" because of the way in which divers jump into the water) was totally covered with water most of the time.  Today it was never covered.  Indeed, where I took this photo from would not have been safe after some previous typhoons.  However, the Washing Machine here is giving plenty of action!

  • Notice how much higher the water is both to the left and to the right of the pink rocks.  Constant motion.
