SEPTEMBER 24, 2016: VALLEY OF DRAGONS (EL TORO, SAIPAN) TOWERS OF FIRE
Some call them "water spouts." Others "spouting horns." Still others refer to them as "blow holes." Whatever you call them, they are one of the most fascinating and beautiful cyclic phenomena in nature.
Valley of Dragons (El Toro) was perhaps calmer than I have ever seen it tonight. In fact, if I had taken someone down there, I would have been disappointed to not be able to show them the REAL water spouts down there (often there are 8 or more spouting). The calm conditions, however, allowed me to set up behind this faithful little guy right at the water line so that I could catch the sun highlights through the spouting water.
