The tidal pools were quite tempting, but I stayed out (all except for my feet).

  • GOT THE TRIPOD SET UP.

  • Yep: This is where a wave came up and drenched my feet. Standing on dry rock when I took the photo. A few seconds later, standing in 6 inches of water. Oh well: My feet are fine. As long as the camera and other equipment stay dry, that's OK!

  • The little "spots" on the horizon on each side of Managaha Island are "readiness ships," chock full of heavy military equipment and ready to deploy to areas of hostilities at a moment's notice. Each ship has the equivalent of 8 football fields parking area.
  • After starting with nice, dramatic clouds (see the earlier photos), the sky became more "bland" for a while, then came a very nice, intense sunset.
