South of Kalabara Cave is a trail marked by a highway sign as "36." It used to be a 2-track road, but now is impassable except by foot. I have been told that putting up such signs officially counts as "highway maintenance" for purposes of obtaining federal grants. So, the little trail will likely continue to be marked as Highway 36 as long as federal funds are available for such.

The following day, we hiked to Dragons North, which gave one of the best shows we have seen down there this year.
