  • Now come on, folks. I like well-marked trails and all, but when your trail goes through something like the Wind Canyon, is it REALLY necessary to leave plastic strip markers every few feet through the canyon? I know: The amount of waste involved is small, but of what value is it to add plastic to the environment like this? Once you are at the canyon, there is no way you are going to turn left or right (or up or down, for that matter). Your only choice, if you decide to proceed on the trail, is to go through the canyon. If it seemed that these markers were doing ANY good, I would not be so exasperated, but why add totally unnecessary and unhelpful plastic to the environment?
