  • Tide was lower than what I have ever seen at Marine Beach.  This created a sun-heated basin with water a few inches deep.  I think it must be due to the temperature that critters such as these brittle stars (which usually stay hidden in holes) came out all around us.

  • Every other time I have been here there has been a ripping current in this swimming hole.  On this day, with the tide so low that waves were not splashing over the reef, current was nearly nil and it was a very safe and fun spot.
