First, we found a passage way which, I believe, marks property boundaries. We found this nice little cove of screw pines overlooking a bluff. The trail we take in just a moment (see the first video of this gallery) will take us down into the valley behind Bev.
• Not sure the function of this quonset hut, but I assume it's from WWII or before.

• These dried seed pods always look to me like they should be spray-painted gold. In fact, when they catch the sun just right, sometimes they look as if someone already HAS gilded them.
• Starts out looking down from the screw pine bluff in photo 1, then down the trail to the valley, all the while hearing the dragon roar (or snore)!
• In the Valley of the Dragon!
• I know that for some of you it takes a while for videos to buffer so that you can watch them. However, for this place, you've really got to see the movement and hear the roar to experience it at all. In fact, in this video, you will see the Dragon himself!
If your internet is not lightening fast, you may get best results by clicking on the triangle above, then waiting a few moments and clicking on the PAUSE button. Allow it to buffer while you go get yourself a drink or something, then come back and press the PLAY button. Oh, and make sure that your sound is turned up!

• Notice the turtle to your upper left at the beginning of the video.
• The first photo of this gallery was taken from atop that bluff.
• Spouting horns galore! Then, time to head back to the vehicle.
...INTERESTING FOR YOU TO HAVE SENT ME AN ALBUM CALLED "THE dRAGON'S vALLEY" Mark, when i am reading a book, by Susan Casey
"The Devil's Teeth"... Two places at the same time that gives me visions of fire-breathers and man-eaters!!
---[[i think you would r-e-a-l-l-y love this book, being a scuba diver and wildLife man.:)C: Very well written about the 'yearly-meeting-place' of great white sharks, right off the coast of San Fran, about 40 miles west, around the Farallones Islands. Fascinating read!!...

Great ya still seeing things "for the very first time" Bev!...:)

I so love that after 9 years here we are still discovering new places that intrigue and delight us and make us laugh.
