  • On the trail at the top of the cliff headed toward "The Toilet Bowl."
  • A nice viewpoint to sit and rest.
  • Here is the view from where Dennis was sitting. The "toilet bowl" really does not show up well in this shot, even though it is near the center of the photo. There is a depression in the shelf just ahead (to your left ) of the white wave. The cave you see just to your left from the shelf curves around to form a tunnel which opens just above said depression. When waves hit the tunnel just right, water gushes around the curve and swirls in the depression, giving a "flushing toilet bowl" swirl effect.<br /> <br /> This photo is marked on the "Map This" function, available from the button above the photo.

  • Beneath the trail to the "Toilet Bowl" overlook is this cool cave, allowing for a spectacular view over the water toward Tinian (visible here in the distance).

  • The opening you must climb down to enter into this cave / tunnel is marked on the map. Try it by clicking on the "Map This" button above!
  • There are some totally cool-looking stalactites, stalagmites, and travertine columns inside this cave-tunnel.
  • On the other side of Naftan Peninsula is this huge Japanese gun. Manufactured in England prior to hostilities preceding WWII, it was never fired.<br /> <br /> This gun emplacement is also marked on the map.
  • Just a few tons of WD-40 might get it to working again! (Or [more likely] dissolve it completely).
