KINSOL TRESTLE
At 144 feet high and 617 feet long, this is the largest wooden trestle in the British Commonwealth of Nations. Finished in 1920, it was abandoned in 1980 and allowed to deteriorate. More recently, local visionaries saw the value of maintaining this and other aspects of the previous railways as pedestrian trails. It was renovated and reopened as a walkway in 2011 and is now part of the Trans Canada Trail.
