JULY, 2019: NEW MEXICO V: ALBUQUERQUE PLUS
During the middle of the time the family was at Red River, we (Bev and I) drove back to Albuquerque to pick Briana up at the airport. Then a few days later we (Bev, Zac, Rio, and I) took her back to the airport for her to fly out. Here are photos from both of those Albuquerque trips.

BEV AND BRI AT OLD TOWN ALBUQUERQUE
Albuquerque was named after Francisco Fernández de la Cueva. Hmm. How did they get Albuquerque out of that? Well, Mr. de la Cueva happened to also have the title of 10th Duke of Alburquerque. Later, the folks around here decided that they liked a Portuguese general with a last name of Albuquerque, so they shed one r to honor him. Interesting that General Albuquerque was actually named after the town of Alburqueque, Spain. So, maybe while Shakespeare was debating about "to be, or not to be," the folks around here were more concerned about changing "u" "r" to "u" "r" not. At least they left the "u" (3 of 'em, actually).
