FLYING AROUND THE RADIO TELESCOPE AND RIVER
Talk about lucky! There is a sign posted on the fence stating that this scientific instrument is extremely sensitive to radio interference, and asking people near it to please turn off their cell phones. I was wanting to do some droning, but after reading that sign I would definitely not have, except that a work man came out of the building and told me that it would be OK, because they were doing maintenance and would not be doing any data gathering. Yea!
So, click on the photo and allow it to buffer a bit. Then enjoy the flight! Notice the size of the people at the base as you start the video, and keep in mind that this contraption is as tall as a 10-story building!
The smaller dishes you see on the top of the hill about 1 minute into the video are owned by U.S. Electrodynamics, Inc., a communications / aerospace company.
