• Lift off from SPN. Looking north, you see Mount Tapochau (the highest point on Saipan, at 1555 feet).
• Looking over Laulau Bay, toward Kagman. Forbidden Island to your right. Looks a lot smaller from here than what it does from the base of it.
• Approaching Guam from the southwest.
• Landing at GUM. Tumon Bay in the background.
• Lift off from GUM, Narita-bound. The top of the cliff to your right is Two Lover's Point (see http://www.twoloverspoint.com/legend.htm )
• Looking toward Tumon Bay and Hagatna from the northeast.
• OK, I have a confession: Even after all the flights I have taken over the years, I still see the realm of the clouds and sky as a mystical, magical place. Through this video, you can fly from Guam to Tokyo in a little over 2 minutes. And you will likely have a much smoother time than I did -- unless your chair breaks or something.
• NRT (Narita Airport). Some of the Japanese linen art work so pleasantly prevalent lining the walkways. And what do you think the top picture is showing?
• Bankei does not look all too happy about having his ears cleaned. But "Hear Ornaments?"
• And guess what the top photo here is of?
• That's right! More "Hear Ornaments!" While the caption does not specify, I assume that the middle picture is of hear combs.
• I always enjoy seeing the new exhibits at the Origami Museum at Narita Airport.
• She was dusting the display with a little brush until she saw me aim the camera at her. First thing she did was back up to get out of the photo (not looking like she minded, but rather looking like she was afraid I didn't want her in the photo). When I gestured for her to please step forward she picked up the little origami flower and hid the brush.
• Now, you can land with me at Kona Airport! We are looking to the west as we land travelling south.
• And now, our arrival at Waikoloa Hilton, where a totally in-resort train picks us up to take us to our complex!
• Waikoloa Hilton occupies 62 acres (The public areas of Disneyland, by comparison, occupy 85 acres). There are 1,240 guest rooms and suites here. This resort-contained train rolls through to deliver guests to the various "towers" (room complexes).
• We were in the "Ocean Tower," near this pool complex with these whimsical statues.
• Many, many statues, and cool, inviting pool water.
• The west end of the Ocean Tower is in the background. Our room was in the east end, with a view onto the golf course.
• Buddha gets a meditative view of the ocean.
