• En route to Japan.
• Heavenly sunset and arrival at NRT. 2 minutes and 56 seconds long.
• Sunset from above the cloud dunes.
• Small neighborhood shrine / cemetery (they are all over the place in Japanese towns). They place offerings on the memorial markers. As you can see, McCafe fits right in with the more permanent ceramic cups. This is how I found it: I promise I did not bring the McCafe cup!
• I love the winding road through old-town Narita to Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple. This is a walk I always look forward to.
• Looking through the Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple ground's Sōmon, or entrance gate. The Temple was established in 940 AD, but this entrance was erected in 2006.
• Here you see the Sōmon from further back.
• The Temple grounds have at least 2 turtle pools.
• Lantern gate, just beyond the Sōmon.
• 3-story pagoda, built in 1712.
• Daitō, or "large pagoda," built in 1984.
• Looking down at some of the temple grounds. The old Main Hall with the aged copper roof to your left, Daitō in the distance, and the Great Hall barely visible to your right.
• Narita Airport (NRT) has lots of stuff to see and do. I generally like to return early, check in, and spend some time walking around in the common areas PRIOR to passing through security. Here you see a doll exhibit.

• NRT also has a very nice (and always fairly busy) public deck for watching the planes. This is just off the food court, so you can grab some grub and / or a beer and come out to relax in the sunshine while watching the jets and waiting for your time to pass through security.

• And, several hours later.....We happen to pass over Lake Chelan in the early morning!

That's Mt. Rainier in the background. The Columbia River winding around the lower left 1/4 of the photo, and Lake Chelan disappearing at the right-hand border. My Lake Chelan home is close to the near shore in this photo, about 1/2 way between the right-hand border and the left edge of the lake.
