  • 23-photo panorama of Mount Baker and surrounding area from Artist Point.
  • Spruce cones.
  • Amazing color for a cone, don't you think?
  • More mountain huckleberries. I can almost taste them now!
  • Bri partakes of nature's bounty.

  • The last several photos were taken from the ridge you see between us and Mount Suksan (this side of the red slope you see beneath the left-hand portion of Shuksan -- and to the right of that to the end of that ridge). We walked back to the parking area (at the end of the trail you see on this slope) and then on toward Mount Baker (behind me as I take this shot).
  • Snow!
  • Zac intentionally missed me with this snowball. Thanks, Zac!
  • Bri is a better sport than am I when getting hit with snowballs.
  • 360-degree panorama made up of 25 photos. Mount Suksan is to your right, and you can follow the trail over the slope (where the previous few photos were taken from) and see Mount Baker to your left from the center of the photo. Notice that the 2 or 3 trees on the extreme left are the same ones on the extreme right. Hover your mouse over the photo and then click "Original" from the pop-out menu. Give it a little time to load and you will have a full size rendering of this. It will not fit on your screen, so you will need to use the scroll bars to your right and bottom of your screen to navigate. If you click on the photo it will return you to the Smug Mug Gallery format. Can you find Bri? How about Zac? They are both in here.
  • Time to head back to the parking area. Looking toward Shuksan.
  • A little rest in the shade.

  • Hard to stop taking photos of Mount Baker.
  • Back at the parking area, I found my own way to cool off.
  • Yep. The air down under the snow was mighty cool and refreshing. Here Bri catches the little droplets melting from the snow.
