  • We have lifted off from Albuquerque International Airport, en route to Denver.
  • Heading north along the Rio Grande River, I believe. The green stuff nearly straight down is the Sandia Resort Golf Course.
  • As we approached the area where I thought we may be near Red River, the clouds decreased visibility a bit -- and made me start to wonder what the descent into Denver would be like.
  • Actually, the descent was not bad. Here you see Jeppesen Terminal Building at Denver International Airport. It's my understanding that the designer wanted something symbolic of the Rocky Mountains.
  • This is one of the few flights I have taken over the U.S. where I really had very little idea where we were at any particular time. So, this is someplace about half way between Denver and Seattle. I thought all the sandstone holes and drainage channels looked pretty cool. Anyone recognize this area? If so, please leave comments!
  • It's always a good omen when Mt. Rainier decides to peek out of the fog and welcome a traveler to the Pacific Northwest.
  • Here, you see both Mt. Rainier (to your left) and Mt. St. Helens (on the horizon, slightly right of center).
  • Approaching Seattle. That's Lake Washington in the foreground and Puget Sound in the background.

    ...looks like a place to go and get away from it all! Wouldn't be bad actually, living at the base of that hill there and every now and then going into town...probably wouldn't have running water nor electricity, nor a garden, probably pretty windy with sand blowing,....hmmmmm, maybe i will just 'retract/delete' those first 16 words i typed here!!!...
