Mom and Dad picked us up at ABQ and took us to Red River. En route, they took us to Embudo Station, where we enjoyed some mighty fine burgers along side the Rio Grande.

Embudo Station is at a historic railroad stop. For more about the place, click the following: http://www.embudostation.com

Oh: Maybe I should mention that it has recently changed ownership, and the service was VERY slow (but also very friendly, with excellent food). I'm sure they will master the service challenge soon.
• Mom and Dad's cabin. Oops: Only joking. It's my understand that this old cabin was one of the first homestead buildings in the Valley of the Pines. It's been vacant at least since I was a kid, and probably long before that. It will be kind of a sad day for me when it falls in or is demolished. It's just part of the landscape, and a very picturesque one at that.
 • Looking south into the Valley of the Pines. To find Mom and Dad's cabin, find the green roof of the furthest house you can see (just left of center). Immediately toward you from that green house is a light roof (just to the left of the red A-frames and just beyond another house with a light red roof). That is the Robertson's. Beautiful place for a house, don't you think?
 • Bev, Zac, and I got up at 2:00 on a full moon morning and drove up the Old Red River Pass to look down on Valley of the Pines. This is a photo taken over 3 minutes. Mom and Dad's house is, I believe, between the bright yellow light and the dimmer green one in the valley. Notice that the stars form little dashes. This is from the amount that our Earth rotates during 3 minutes (believe it or not).
• A deer greeted us on the way back to the cabin that morning.
 • There was a nice dew on the plants prior to the sun hitting them, so I decided to take a few snaps of the gorgeous wild flowers.

 • Dew drops in dandelion seeds. Sometimes the most spectacular scenery is the smallest.

 • This is the following night. In this 30-second exposure I shined a flashlight on the river for a few seconds and then on the house for a few.

 • Hmmm. From the looks of those clouds I wonder if we should be headed up the ski lift right now.
 • Oh well, it looks like everyone is having fun.

 • "Yiiiiiiieeeeee!"
 • Looks like Zac is warming his hands by an imaginary fire.
