• Between the 5 of us, there were 3 different desires as to type of food: From pizza to hamburger to the more eclectic fare at Better Living Through Coffee. So, we each got our respective choices to go and had a picnic with it here on the beach, right in front of Better Living Through Coffee (which is where I got my lunch).
• Ahoy, Mate! Could you help me drag my anchor along a bit?

• Couldn't help but create a different interpretation here.
• We hesitated to head up Heart O' the Hills Road to Hurricane Ridge, because it appeared that the top may be sopped in clouds. It is a beautiful drive, however.
• You can see how the top of the mountain here is barely showing through the fog.
• Hey, it looks like some of the high country may decide to reveal itself after all.
• Just before we got to the top, we drove out of the fog bank and into breathtaking clarity.
• This is a panorama of 13 photos stitched together. As with many of these attempts, there is some distortion. The rock wall which appears to have a corner beneath me is actually straight: I started out looking east (toward Mario and Olga) and rotated to my right with each successive photo, ending up facing west, toward the opposite end of the wall. I admit I like the curved horizon (even though it is an artifact of the panorama process), because it does emphasize the feeling of being on top of the world, which one does indeed have while standing here.
If you would like to see detail, hover your cursor over the photo and then click on "Original" in the menu which pops out on the photo. That will open a full-size photo much larger than what can fit on your screen. Use the scroll bars on your right and on the bottom of your screen to navigate to look at different parts of the photo. There are at least 2 deer -- can you find them?
• Here you can see the deer a little easier. Heart O' the Hills Road comes up the other side of this ridge. The fog you see here is what was blanketing our drive on the way up. It was totally cool to drive out of it just as we arrived at the summit.
• More deer and tourists.
• Time to head down to Port Angeles and catch the ferry to Vancouver Island (British Columbia). Join is for the next album to continue on northward!
