Since 1956 Lindau has been the site of a yearly gathering of Nobel laureates. 20 to 30 Nobel laureates come to the city, and around 500 students. The whole thing is by invitation only and it is extremely prestigious to be invited. Topics basically rotate each year between physics, chemistry, and physiology or medicine (except in rare years, including 2000 and 2005, all topics are combined). Oh LOOK, I think I see 2 Nobel Laureates sitting right there! My, aren't we LUCKY!
